(DOVER PLAINS, August 16): In a ceremony this afternoon at the Beretta Shooting Grounds, New York State Rifle & Pistol Association President Tom King announced the endorsement by his organization of Bob Castelli for State Senate in the 40th District:
“Today we are pleased to announce our endorsement of former State Assemblyman Bob Castelli for the NY State Senate seat in the 40th Senate District of Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess Counties. Bob is a life member of our organization, the NRA and the Westchester Firearms Owners Association. He is a certified rifle, pistol, shotgun and home firearms safety instructor, and has been a competitive shooter at the world and national levels. He is an all-around sportsman and well known conservationist.
“Bob has a proven record as a State Assemblyman of defending the Constitution and our Second Amendment rights. As a Vietnam Veteran, State Trooper and criminal justice professor he has been a tireless advocate for veterans, law enforcement, conservation and the protection of our Constitutional rights.
“As an Assemblyman, he worked to lower taxes, create jobs, make New York business-friendly, and fight the corruption that exists in Albany. It is with great pleasure that the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association endorses Bob Castelli for State Senate in the September 9th Republican Primary, and we urge our members to get behind him. Please see www.bobcastelli.com for more information on how to help.”
Castelli was present at the ceremony, and in accepting the endorsement remarked, “I am honored to accept this endorsement from one of the most respected organizations in the country, who for decades has been at the forefront in the fight to protect the Constitution and our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. President Tom King and the more than 45,000 members in New York have continued this fight for our rights, and I vow to continue it with them.”
