“It is exceedingly rare to find a candidate like Assemblyman Bob Castelli, who is so willing to do what is right for our environment by standing up publicly to politicians in both parties, and special interests,” said Ed Berry, co-political director of the Sierra Club Atlantic Chapter’s Lower Hudson Group. “Bob Castelli is the only candidate in this race with an economic vision that connects a healthy environment with a growing economy, and who has a proven track record of creating and passing environmental legislation, from his days as a Lewisboro Town Councilman to present day in the State Assembly.”
“We need more people in Albany like Assemblyman Castelli, who recognize that the environment is an apolitical issue that defies party labels and party politics,” Berry said. “The Sierra Club is proud to endorse Bob Castelli, whose values make him the both the principled choice and the right choice to represent us in Albany.”

“Bob Castelli has been a great advocate for small business in the Legislature and his terrific voting record proves it,” said NFIB/New York State Director Mike Durant. “Assemblyman Castelli has stood with small business to help enact two consecutive fiscally responsible budgets and continues to stress the need for Albany’s focus to remain on reducing the high cost of doing business. We look forward to continuing to work with the Assemblyman to put New York on the path to economic revitalization,” Durant said.
“We are pleased to endorse Bob Castelli for his continued stewardship and aggressive support of conservation and the environment,” said Marcia Bystryn, President of the New York League of Conservation Voters. “Since taking office in 2010, Bob has demonstrated his commitment to the environment and his constituents by working to make clean water a top priority. It is the League’s pleasure to endorse his candidacy, and recommend him to voters of all parties in the 93rd District as a champion and steward of the environment.”
Castelli has been widely recognized for his commitment to environmental protections during since his time as a Town Councilman in Lewisboro. The New York League of Conservation Voters, a non-profit organization which works to make environmental sustainability a top political priority in New York State, said that their endorsed candidates represent the best and brightest sustainability leaders for our state and federal government.
“Bob Castelli has served in the Assembly since 2010 and has been a committed budget hawk. Assemblymen Castelli [is a] strong and much-needed voices for fiscal conservatism in an Assembly replete with spendthrift liberals. Let’s keep Castelli … working for New York!”

In a release discussing the council’s slate of endorsed candidates, Teamsters Joint Council 16 President George President Miranda said, “Teamsters Joint Council 16 looks for candidates with a proven track record or a demonstrated commitment to fighting for working families” like Assemblyman Bob Castelli, “which is so critical in these tough economic times.”
“These endorsements are more than pronouncements for the press; rather, Teamsters will be in the streets in districts across the State putting shoe leather and hard work behind these endorsements,” Miranda said. “These candidates have stood with us, and now we will stand with them when it matters most.”
